Many Lorestanis, especially the people of Khorramabad, are familiar with the name of the great midwife of Lorestan, the late Hajieh Malekzadeh Siah-Mansour; a midwife who, for many, whispered the sound of the call to prayer and the iqama shortly after their birth.

The concern of the great midwife of Lorestan was that the mothers of the land of Mehr and Mefregh would give birth to their children in the best of health.
Some residents of Khorramabad say in their memories that sometimes when a delivery in the hospital ran into problems, it was this great midwife of Lorestan who came to help so that the newborn would be born in the best of health.
