The First National Conference on Commonalities of Zagros Mountain Tribes was Held at Lorestan University

The First National Conference on the Commonalities of Zagros Mountain Inhabitants was held at Lorestan University.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, on Wednesday morning, October 11th, the First National Conference on the Commonalities of Zagros Mountain Inhabitants was held in the Shahid Shokohi Hall of Lorestan University, with the presence of researchers, scholars, managers, faculty members, and students.

This national conference includes various specialized sessions that are held at Lorestan University.

The conference was held in collaboration with the Lorestan Studies Center of Lorestan University, under the management of Dr. Ali Nouri, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Lorestan Province, and the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Lorestan Province, at Lorestan University.

Dialogue of Zagros Mountain Inhabitants with the Aim of Strengthening Unity and Commonalities

Hojjatoleslam Dr. Habib Hatami-Kan-Kaboud, the representative of the Supreme Leader in the universities of Lorestan province, said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the conference: "The Zagros Mountain Inhabitants should recognize each other's commonalities more than before and strengthen their dialogues."

Dr. Hatami-Kan-Kaboud explained: "The Zagros Mountain Inhabitants should strengthen each other's good traditions."

He stated: "It is important that the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants should respect each other's commonalities more than in the past so that empathy between the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants can expand."

The representative of the Supreme Leader in the universities of Lorestan province added: "Unity and commonalities between the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants should be expanded and differences should be avoided."

Importance of Zagros Mountain Provinces

Dr. Saeed Mohammadzadeh, the Vice President for Support of Lorestan University, said in his speech at the ceremony: "About 40 percent of the country's water and about 80 percent of the country's nomads are in the Zagros, which itself indicates the importance of the Zagros Mountain provinces."

Mohammadzadeh added: "About one million people in the Zagros Mountain provinces are engaged in various activities, which also indicates the importance of this geographical area in the country."

He pointed to one of the most important advantages and God-given blessings of the Zagros Mountain provinces, which is the existence of forests, and one of the important advantages of forests is their role in water storage.

The Vice President for Support of Lorestan University stated: "Recognizing each other's commonalities strengthens unity among the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants, and strengthening unity is also one of the Quranic concepts."

Research on the Commonalities of Zagros Mountain Inhabitants

Dr. Ali Nouri, the director of the Lorestan Studies Center of Lorestan University and the scientific secretary of the conference, said in his speech at the ceremony: "The commonalities of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants is a subject that should be researched more than before."

Dr. Nouri stated: "Holding such conferences is in line with the expansion of scientific and applied research to improve the knowledge of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants of each other's commonalities."

Strengthening the unity of Iranian ethnic groups; an important goal

Dr. Ata Hassanpour, the General Director of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Lorestan Province, said in his speech at the ceremony: "Holding such conferences should strengthen and promote unity among the Iranian ethnic groups and institutionalize ethnic integration."

Dr. Hassanpour explained: "The first settlements of human habitation are in the foothills of the Zagros, and this shows the historical and civilizational importance of the Zagros."

He stated: "Looking at the Bronze Age history clearly shows the importance of the history of art and civilization in Lorestan and Zagros."

Dr. Hassanpour also spoke about the importance of music and geology in the Zagros region in another part of his speech.

He stated: "The birthplace of the agricultural revolution is the foothills of the Zagros; the place where humans were able to domesticate and cultivate grains for the first time."

The General Director of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Lorestan Province emphasized: "Unity among the Iranian ethnic groups should be strengthened under the shadow of the holy system of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Zagros Mountain Inhabitants; Strong and Determined

Mansour Ahmadi, the General Director of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Lorestan Province, said in his speech at the ceremony: "One of the commonalities of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants is that they are strong and determined people."

Ahmadi explained: "Honesty, steadfastness, and intimacy are other commonalities of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants."

He stated: "Giving importance to local music is one of the important commonalities of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants."

The General Director of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Lorestan Province referred to the Sacred Defense era in his speech and considered the anonymity of many martyrs of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants as another commonality of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants.

It is worth mentioning that in this conference and its specialized sessions, various researchers expressed their scientific views on the various commonalities of the Zagros Mountain Inhabitants.

In a part of this conference, live local music was also performed.
